Our next plaque will commemorate the novelist George Gissing, who lived in the city
between 1891 and 1893. The plaque will be unveiled at 11:00, at 25 Heavitree Road, EX1
2LG, by Professor Richard Dennis - all welcome. Afterwards we’ll have coffee at the cafe
at the Barnfield Theatre on Barnfield Road - a place visited by George Gissing many
times when it housed the Exeter Literary Society.

At 11a.m. Exeter City Councillors Diana Moore and Carol Bennett from the Green Party will start us off in a series of talks looking into what travelling within Exeter in the 21st century could look like. Be prepared for some creative thinking and suggestions which might help change your travel habits and prompt system change.
The Civic Society and Topsham Museum’s blue plaque to Dick Pym will be unveiled at 12 noon on Monday 31 July on Ferry Road on the wall directly below Topsham Parish Church.
