Exeter has a long history of floods. This talk will look at why Exeter has suffered from floods in the past including the dramatic floods of 1960. It will show how and why the flood scheme constructed at the end of the 1960s helped protect the City and why further flood alleviation works were needed after floods in 2012 and 2014. The risk from future floods will also be discussed and what action could be taken.
